Against Letting Go

Some wounds we keep cutting open in order to stay close to them

Some injuries are soul injuries. They are meant to be. They open us to the reality of ourselves as beings of longing.

Longing is the vehicle towards ourselves. Some things, some injuries, are the meaning of our lives.

Letting go is not, as is typically suggested, letting go of all invested emotion. If it were so, the experience would have been wasted. 

It is, instead, about coming into a relationship with that pain, where it still hurts, sometimes, but differently.
